Equipped for 2024

Scripture Focus: 2 Corinthians 10:4-6; James 1:14-15; Matthew 13:16; 13:11-13

As we step into the uncharted territories of 2024, let us ground ourselves in the truth of God’s Word. In 2 Corinthians 10:4-6, we are reminded that our weapons are not ordinary; they are mighty in God for tearing down strongholds and aligning our thoughts with Christ. How can we intentionally prepare ourselves for what the Lord has in store?

“When desire is conceived, it gives birth to sin, sin when full grown brings forth death. “

James 1:14-15 warns against the allure of our own desires, leading us away from the Lord. To counter this, let us establish “holy habits” that redirect our focus daily. By spending time in the presence of the Lord and immersing ourselves in His Word, we position ourselves to resist the enticements of our fleshly desires.

Remembering that our tools are not carnal but mighty in God, we have the ability to cast down evil thoughts. In Matthew 13:16, we are reminded of the blessing of our eyes and ears that perceive the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven.

“To You it is given to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of Heaven”

Consider the privilege mentioned in Matthew 13:11-13, where Jesus speaks about understanding the mysteries of the kingdom. We are entrusted with the abundance of God’s truth, and as good stewards, we must continually seek to know and understand.

Equipped for 2024

As we enter 2024, reflect on your stewardship of God’s Word. How can you better equip yourself with His truth? Let this year be a journey of deepening your connection with God’s Word, allowing His wisdom to guide your steps.

May we be intentional in our pursuit, seeking to be fully equipped for the unfolding chapters of 2024 with the mighty tools and wisdom found in God’s eternal Word.
