The one who searches the scriptures with all intent on obeying them, holding its instructions closely, as not to easily forget or neglect the wisdom found within them- this one will be blessed. 

  James 1:25But He who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this one, will be blessed in what he does.

In James 1:25- it said:

He who searches the scriptures, obeys them, constantly bringing them to remembrance and doing what it says—This one will be blessed. (my translation)

 

1. Looking into- “looking intently” or “stooping down to get a better look at” -we should pause, take time to stoop down, get into, dig into, look at, look intently, study the Word of God
(The Word of God that frees us from slavery to sin and death)

 

2. Continue in the Word-to remain beside or near, to persevere in, do not give up- continue in it!

 

3. Do not be a forgetful Hearer- careful not to neglect the words of wisdom given, not forsaking them, abandoning them,

 

4. instead be a doer- a go getter, performing the task given, diligent, making, carrying out the duties, acting upon the instructions. DO!

 

Lord, Help us to remain beside, near, and continuing in Your Word that brings life and liberty from sin. Help us to keep you in our thoughts and on our minds throughout this week. Let us not to be forgetful hearers busy or distracted with worldly duties. Instead let us hold fast to your Word, Your plan and Your desires for our lives and DO what you are calling us to do. Enable us, encourage us, and protect us from the enemy’s schemes to frustrate the plans you have for us. Keep us focused on you, eyes fixed on you. We know “some assembly is required” we know we must participate with you and work with you, open our eyes to see what you’re calling us to do. Open our ears to hear your instruction louder than the distractions swirling all around. Thank You for your faithfulness to us Lord. Your Word says a double minded man is unstable in all his ways (James 1:8) Let us be one minded toward the goal to which you’ve called us. Walking with intention and clarity. In Jesus Name, AMEN!
